Torbeck Barrosa Valley

Torbreck Vintners is a highly esteemed winery located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, renowned for its exceptional Rhône-style wines made from some of the oldest vineyards in the region. Founded in 1994 by David Powell, Torbreck’s focus has been on crafting powerful, structured, and elegant wines using traditional winemaking techniques and old vine fruit, particularly Shiraz (Syrah), Grenache, and Mataro (Mourvèdre). The winery’s flagship wine, The Laird, is one of Australia’s most celebrated Shiraz wines, often receiving international acclaim for its depth, complexity, and longevity. Torbreck’s portfolio also includes other notable wines like RunRig, a blend of Shiraz and Viognier, and The Steading, a traditional Grenache, Shiraz, and Mataro (GSM) blend.Torbreck's philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that old vines and traditional practices yield wines with a distinctive sense of place and a strong connection to the Barossa’s unique terroir. The winery employs minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing the natural qualities of the fruit to shine through.

Woodcutter's Semillon

Fashioned with the savoury, food friendly dry whites of Southern France in mind, Woodcutter’s Semillon is the ideal tonic after a long day in the vineyard.Semillon has always found a natural home in the Barossa. It was one of the early white wine grape varieties planted by the first settlers around 160 years ago and the Mediterranean climate and careful farming has created a heritage of old, low yielding Semillon vineyards.
With the use of an age-old, robust, pink-skinned Madeira clone, found mainly in the Barossa, and maturation in both stainless steel and seasoned French barriques, the Woodcutter’s Semillon is reminiscent of the savoury, food friendly white wines found in the central and southern regions of France.
